Going to Japan!

I’ve been invited to join a select group of Yamaha representatives to visit Yamaha headquarters in Japan! I’m getting ready to leave tomorrow, and trying to decide what camera gear to bring along and what to leave behind. I hate checking bags, so I try to limit myself to carry on luggage only. Two bags I absolutely love using are my Rimowa suitcase and my Think Tank Urban Access 15 Photo Sling Bag. I got the Rimowa when I was stuck in Lisbon and they forced me to check my bag. The Rimowa is supposed to fit in carry on for most international flights - it’s definitely a challenge to fit everything I need into that bag, but worth the hassle. I got the Think Tank after seeing an effusive recommendation from a YouTube videographer - this bag is so incredibly well thought out, making it easy to access camera gear and lenses from a variety of pockets and storage compartments!

And of course, with the coronavirus concerns, I’m learning how to put on face masks. One of my online piano students strongly advised me to get N95 face masks, so I got some from Cunningham Piano’s factory, as well as having a box of 20 shipped to me from Canada (they were really really expensive! Ouch!) Yamaha is well aware of the situation and has been letting us know how they’re modifying our itinerary to limit public exposure and keep us safe.

Feeling excited and cautious all at the same time. Wish me well!
