Hanging out with Jasmine Choi after a concert

After a wonderful recital with Jasmine Choi at the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention in Washington D.C., we decided to check out a local Korean restaurant with Jasmine’s cousin and her boyfriend. While waiting for our fabulous meal to be served, Jasmine and I reflected on how wonderful it was seeing such an enthusiastic (and young!) audience at the recital - what we loved about the music we performed (works by Katherine Hoover, Jules Moquet, and Gabriel Faure), and our future performance plans around the world in cities like Madrid, Taipei, and Tokyo.

The restaurant, by the way, was “Taste of Korea” in Chantilly, Virginia. Fabulous food! Highly recommended!

Upon returning to our hotel, we caught up with some sales reps from various flute manufacturers, like Burkhardt and Powell, as well as a university flute professor, for a lovely nightcap. All post-concert adventures should be this much fun!
